A mini-split puts cooling exactly where you need it: a wall- or ceiling-mounted indoor head connected to a compact outdoor unit by a small line set. No ductwork, no tearing open walls, no robbing airflow from the rest of the house.
For additions, garages, Florida rooms, and rooms the main system never quite reaches, mini-splits are often the cleanest answer — installed in a day, zoned independently, and efficient because there are no ducts to leak.
Cooling Without Ducts
The indoor head handles one zone, controlled by its own remote or wall thermostat. One outdoor unit can serve a single head or several, each running independently.
Because there is no ductwork, there are no duct losses — and in Florida, where ducts often run through blazing attics, that is a real efficiency gain. Installation is minimally invasive: a small opening for the line set, a bracket on the wall, and power.
Where Mini-Splits Shine

Each indoor head is its own zone with its own temperature setting. Cool the home office to 72 during the workday without cooling the empty bedrooms. Shut off the Florida room at night instead of paying to condition it around the clock.
That zoning is where the savings come from — you condition the rooms you are using, when you are using them.
The Outdoor Unit Needs Its Own Circuit
Every mini-split outdoor unit requires a dedicated electrical circuit, sized to the equipment and run back to the panel. That is permitted electrical work, and it is part of our quote.
Because we are a full electrical contractor, our electricians handle the circuit, the disconnect, and the panel capacity in the same project — no coordinating a second company.
Common questions
Can a mini-split cool a whole house?
A multi-zone mini-split can, with one head per area. But for a typical Wellington home with good existing ductwork, a central system is usually the better value. Mini-splits win for targeted zones.
How noisy are the indoor heads?
Very quiet — most run at conversation level or below on low speed. The compressor noise stays outside with the outdoor unit.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
On a pad or wall bracket near the indoor heads, with clearance for airflow and service. We place it for short line-set runs, drainage, and looks — and confirm placement with you first.
Do I need electrical work for a mini-split?
Yes. The outdoor unit needs a dedicated circuit and disconnect, sized to the equipment. Our electricians include that in the quote and the permit.
